- Parental Controls, also known as Restrictions, let you manage which features, apps, and content your kids can and can't access on the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. That includes the ability to delete apps. Whether you've already experienced the unbelievable speed with which a young child can delete almost every app on your device — and sometimes your data along with them! — or you simply.
Qustodio is a parental control app helping parents regulate kids’ online activity, screen time and check on them remotely. The software is easy to use and provides the full spectrum of monitoring opportunities. It has a vast Qustodio family and ecosystem of parents who want to make parenting as easy as possible. How to remove a VPN by deleting its app. Most modern iOS VPNs come in the form of an app in the App Store, and all you have to do is install the app and it’ll install the VPN on your device automatically so long as you give the app permission to do so.

Easy to download and install
Set up is extremely easy – no need to enter a lot of personal information or even a credit card number. Once you download and install, they walk you through the setup. I installed Qustodio on our family laptop.
Note that you can choose to hide the fact that Qustodio is installed if you wish.
After signing up, I was notified that I had three days to try the premium version – nice that you can try it without having to enter a credit card number for the free trial. The premium version is $54.95/year for up to 5 devices with additional plans to cover more devices. Here’s a comparison between the free and premium version.
Qustodio Parental Control Settings
After installation was complete, I clicked to watch a tutorial. At first it seemed like nothing happened but then I did finally see the Qustodio icon in the taskbar (remember you can choose to hide this if you don’t want to make it apparent that there is a program running). The tutorial gave an overview of product features.
The Family Portal is your starting point. It is a website where you log in and set up the restrictions and controls for each child. The interface is clear and easy to use and understand. You can also choose to install Qustodio as a parent’s app (iOS or Android).
With the free version, you can set up web browsing rules (block or warn by category) and set time limits on one device. You’ll also be able to view web and application activity from the portal.
A quick note about Qustodio for iOS devices, such as iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone. The iOS version has been improved since my first review of the product back in 2014, when features were limited. Now you can filter and monitor web activity in either Safari or Chrome, control internet access with scheduling and time quotas, and manage access to popular apps such as Ask.fm, Clash of Clans, Facebook, Instagram, iTunes, Snapchat, Tinder, YouNow and many others.
When filtering websites, you can choose to block them completely (shown in red in the screenshot), or to allow them but receive a notification that a questionable site was visited (shown in yellow in the screenshot). In my testing this worked very well. I had set Entertainment sites to issue a warning, and got a series of e-mails when Jimmy visited Rolling Stone and YouTube. You can also choose to receive daily or weekly summary reports.
With premium, additional features include app blocking, location tracking, time controls by device and for Android devices you can also set up calls/SMS text message monitoring. You also have access to 30 days of reports while on the free version you only have 7 days of activity history.
The Qustodio Family portal is easy to use and navigate, and gives you a colorful overview of recent usage history. You’ll have a full navigation history of web sites visited, and can easily hone in on questionable activity.
Bottom line, if you are looking for a parental control/monitoring solution for computers along with your iOS and Android devices, Qustodio is a very easy-to-use and thorough solution. The free version is great for smaller families sharing one device and you want to enforce time limits, monitor web usage and set web restrictions. The full featured premium, starting at $54.95/year (discounts may pop up after the trial ends!) is reasonably priced for use on up to 5 devices.
